Not only a Winter Wonderland but a beautiful place to visit year-round. No matter what time of year you visit Leavenworth, you will really enjoy your stay. There are lots to see and do. This is a year-round travel destination for the whole family. It is really a Picture Perfect Postcard Town:
This Bavarian-themed mountain town in Washington offers adventure and loads of photo opportunities. Enjoy the local brews and bratwurst in one of the many restaurants. Shop for that special souvenir. Or stroll along the streets with the beautiful buildings decorated with hanging flower baskets of petunias. For the more adventurous traveler the Alpine Wilderness with beautiful lakes and rivers, and the National Forest awaits. In my opinion, there is never a dull moment.
The setting of this town will have you thinking you are actually in the Bavarian Alps. Everywhere you look. The food, the buildings, the shops… It is just spectacular and more than definitely worth a visit.
Do visit the Kris Kringl Christmas store on Front street for fabulous decorations and/or souvenirs. Did you know: Kris Kringl is the US name for Father Christmas.
In the same street, you can stop for dinner at Andreas Keller Restaurant for really good food. Our recommendation would be to go to a place selling authentic German food.
If ever you get to visit during October – they have one of the largest Octoberfests in America. But as from 2022 the Leavenworth Octoberfest is no longer in Leavenworth, but only 30 minutes away in Wenatchee.
A museum dedicated to nutcrackers. This museum, founded by Arlene Wagner and her husband George in 1995 is home to more than 7,000 nutcrackers (as counted in 2020).
I bet you have never seen so many nutcrackers in your life. Learn more about the history of the nutcracker with a visit to this fascinating museum. The Leavenworth Nutcracker Museum is definitely worth a visit and the kids will love it as well.
