Planning a trip to Sydney? Hold on, mate! Before you grab your sunscreen and flip-flops, let me spill the beans on a few things you should know.
There are several options available depending on your location and preferences. Whichever mode of transportation you choose, the journey to Monte Carlo promises stunning coastal views and a taste of the Mediterranean lifestyle, setting the stage for an unforgettable adventure.
I found that the best way to explore the enchanting city of Monte Carlo is to combine walking with the use of public transportation.
Ideally, I’d recommend spending at least 4-5 days in Sydney to truly soak in the city’s charm and experience its top attractions. However, if you’re short on time, you can still get a taste of Sydney in 2-3 days by focusing on the must-see sights and prioritizing your interests.
I will be sharing a suggested 2-day itinerary of Sydney, covering the city’s highlights. Stay on this page.
The answer largely depends on your preferences and what you plan to do during your trip. Like the weather, crowd sizes, and the specific events or activities you wish to experience. Furthermore, peak tourist seasons, such as summer and major festivals, can be busier and more expensive, while shoulder seasons like spring and autumn offer a balance of pleasant weather and fewer crowds.
Sydney enjoys a mild climate throughout the year, but there are a few factors to consider when choosing the ideal time for your visit:
Spring (September to November): Spring (my personal favorite time to enjoy the city) is a fantastic time to visit Sydney as the weather is generally pleasant, with temperatures ranging from 15-25°C (59-77°F). The city comes alive with vibrant blooms, and you can enjoy outdoor activities, including exploring the beaches, coastal walks, and attending festivals like Sculpture by the Sea.
Summer (December to February): Summer in Sydney is synonymous with beach culture and outdoor fun. The temperatures range from 20-30°C (68-86°F), making it perfect for enjoying the iconic beaches and water activities. Sydney’s festive season, including Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations, adds to the vibrant atmosphere.
The Sydney Opera House, with its iconic sail-like design, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (since 2007). It’s recognized for its (now iconic to Sydney) outstanding architectural as well as engineering achievements.

If you have no fear of heights, then this “adventurous” (It’s high, mate!) rotating restaurant has a table waiting to be reserved by you! The tower stands at a height of 309 meters (1,014 feet) and is the tallest structure in Sydney.
Travel Tip(s)
Book a window table to get the most out of the spectacular rotating 360-degree views of the city while you indulge in the super-delicious Sydney Tower Buffet. If you ask for a “sunset session” you’re all set for a breathtaking sunset! It’s wheelchair accessible.
For animal lovers, Taronga Zoo is a must-visit. Get up close and personal with a wide variety of animals and enjoy stunning views of the city skyline from the zoo’s location.
Another iconic landmark in Sydney is the harbor bridge, known as the “Coathanger”. It offers breathtaking views of the city. Walk or cycle across it, or even climb to the top for a thrilling adventure.
Sydney is famous for its beautiful beaches, and Bondi Beach is a must-visit. Take a dip in the sparkling blue waters, soak up the sun on the golden sands, or simply enjoy the vibrant beach culture.
The Rocks, a historic area, is the birthplace of Sydney and offers a glimpse into its colonial past. Explore its charming streets, visit the weekend markets, and indulge in delicious food and drinks.
Using an interactive smartphone app, explore Sydney’s top attractions on foot while playing an outdoor escape game. Explore the city’s attractions by resolving puzzles and riddles to reveal your next stop.
Sydney is not just about its iconic landmarks and bustling city life.
Sydney is also home to some incredible natural wonders, all of which are must-visit natural attractions.
Going on guided tours saves you from spending time making bookings, and getting any necessary permits. So, if possible, I suggest you join a group. It's also much more fun to experience everyone's interactions and witty commentary!
Additionally, always practice responsible tourism by respecting the environment and following park regulations.

One thing we all know only too well is the cost of living where we live. However, what we don’t know is how it compares to our dream holiday destination. Compare city to city on typical holiday expenses. Like the cost of dinner out, or the cost of groceries (self-catering holidays), or transport such as taxis, buses, and trains.
