Most people outside Brazil don’t know of this hidden gem, featuring amazing beaches. Brazil is known for its stunning beaches, but Maragogi?
When you go for 8 to 10 days, you’ll have enough time to explore and enjoy all the beaches. Besides the beaches already mentioned, you should also explore Antune’s Beach, Carneiros Beach, Guadalupe Beach, Pontal Beach, and Peroba Beach. Now that’s a lot of beaches!
Every beach has its own unique attributes. Such as Carneiros Beach. Carneiros features a lighthouse built on a fort and they have the most creative waste baskets I’ve seen in a long time!
Fourteen days will allow that extra bit of relaxation, which is a great bonus well worth considering.
Beaches, beaches and then beaches! Yes, here to have plenty of mind-blowingly beautiful seascapes to enjoy.
Like Porto de Galinhas Beach in Ipojuca near Recife. In the south of the state of Pernambuco Porto de Galinhas Beach where you can stroll small boats by its natural pools.
Another amazing panorama awaits at Barra Grande Beach at Ponto do Muta.
The best tours from Maragogi, taking additional safety precautions, and great for avoiding crowds, are:
Generally, you are able to reserve now, and pay later with free cancellation up to 24 hours in advance.
Feel free to add your favorite dish or drink from Maragogi in the comments below.
If you’re a beach lover, there is no question about whether or not you should go. The crystal clear water also makes for amazing snorkel and scuba dive experiences. Further activities such as fishing or sailing the local “jangas” are great fun. “Jangas” (a sailing raft) are their traditional fishing boats, and thus an icon of the area.
Lastly, an experience not to miss is renting beach buggies to do your own sightseeing aroung Maragogi. They are readily available from most hotels.
In addition to renting beach buggies, there are plenty of jeep-tours that will take you to the various beaches and sightseeing highlights. Therefore, having your own transport is a nice-to-have, and not a must-have.
The travel cost estimate below is a guide to what you can expect to pay. Thus helping you to compile your travel budget.
Allow for some local shopping such as local arts and crafts you’ll find on Maragogi’s busy waterfront.
It’s most probably not that well-known because of its location. You don’t get to Maragogi by jumping on a plane and wow, there you are, in paradise. To the contrary. This little paradise is located smack in the middle between two big cities, namely Recife and Maceió – about 125 km from each. Depending on flight prices, you can fly to any of the two cities, rent a car and drive about an hour to escape city-life – see “useful links’ below.
Alternatively, book an airport transfer from Recife Airport or from Maceió Airport for a car-free holiday.
The good news is that you’re in for some jolly warm temperatures all-year-round! July is the month with the most rain, whereas January is the warmest month. Usually, January temperatures are around 31°C at mid-day, dropping to about 22°C at night. The coolest it gets is around July with temperatures varying from 17°C at night to about 26°C mid-day. Thus, Maragogi is definitely on the list of places you can visit any time of the year and enjoy warm weather.
