How to Explore Valencia on a Budget: 10 Smart Tips for Affordable TravelPlanning a trip to Valencia on a budget...
We’re a family of four — two parents and two energetic kiddos aged 6 and 10. Our mission? To explore, learn, and laugh our way through Valencia with kids. After chatting with our friend Aurora James — whose inspiring posts about Valencia sparked our curiosity — we, the Bennett Bunch, decided to experience the city for ourselves, little ones in tow. This is our take on discovering Valencia with kids, and why it might just be your next favorite family getaway.
Here’s our short and sweet take on Valencia — with handy links to skip the ticket-hunting hassle.
City of Arts and Sciences: The interactive Science Museum is a hit with kids — hands-on exhibits make learning fun. It also goes by the name of the Principe Felipe Science Museum, and it is one of the less expensive entrance tickets – value for your money!
Oceanogràfic: Europe’s largest aquarium. From sharks to belugas, it’s a must-see when exploring Valencia with kids. An entrance ticket to Oceanogràfic is valid for the day.
Dinner by Playa de la Malvarrosa — paella for mom and dad, pasta for the pint-sized foodies.
🎒 Travel Tip: Get the combo ticket for the Oceanogràfic aquarium and the Science Museum, and book well ahead of time. The combo ticket is much cheaper than buying the tickets separately. And if you book online, you don’t have to stand in the ticket line.
Gulliver Park: A giant playground that is free to enter, shaped like Gulliver himself. Slides, ropes, and endless giggles.
Turia Gardens: Rent bikes and ride through this lush green space — a highlight of Valencia with kids.
Ice cream in the old town, followed by a relaxed stroll through Plaza de la Virgen.
Bioparc Valencia: An immersive zoo where kids can get close to giraffes, lemurs, and lions. Book ahead because it’s very popular, especially during school holidays.
Patacona Beach: Calm waters, soft sand, and a playground right on the beach — perfect for families.
