The world’s largest single rock is in Australia, i.e. Monolith Uluru.
With a height of 348 meters and a circumference of 5.8 miles, this is the world’s largest rock and one of the weirdest places on earth.
One single mountain-sized rock that stands alone. It maintained its position as the surrounding rocks deteriorated, becoming the longest-lasting Monolithic rock structure.
This is not only one of the world’s most unusual places. It is also super creepy!
The Hollywood movie The Forest explores the eerie nature of the Aokigahara Forest which is said to have been haunting people for a very long time.
Also called the Suicide Forest, this jungle lies at the foothills of the famed volcano Mount Fuji in Japan. It’s believed that over 500 people have committed suicide in this spooky jungle, notorious for its endless cases of haunting and visions of ghosts that have occurred here.
These massive stone sculptures, created by the Rapa Nui people, range in height from 3 to 10 meters and weigh as much as 75 tons! The Moai have unique facial expressions, with some looking serious and others smiling, and are adorned with red topknots made of volcanic rock.
But the real mystery lies in how the Rapa Nui people managed to create and transport these massive statues across the island. While some experts believe that ropes and wooden sledges were used, others think that supernatural powers or even aliens were involved!
One of the most intriguing aspects of the Moai is that they all face inland, overlooking the Rapa Nui people rather than the sea. This has led to many theories about their purpose, including that they were meant to watch over and protect the community.

Due to the massive levels of iron present, the water is red in hue. The red coloring is due to “oxidized iron in brine saltwater, the same process that gives the iron a dark red color when it rusts”. – Researchers of the University of Alaska.
On the eastern slope of the Wartenberg, Prince Joseph Maria Benedikt von Fürstenberg had an English garden put out in 1783. He also had a hermitage with a Capuchin automaton in it, which was amusing.
The little hermitage, in the middle of the forest, is an odd wooden structure with twig decorations on the walls. The home has a little bell tower on top.
Mount Roraima is another one of the weirdest places on earth. The massive mountain has an absurd flat top that is reputed to be one of the most mysterious and home to a wide variety of exotic plants and animals. Mount Roraima is Pakaraima chain’s tallest mountain and Venezuela’s highest point known as Laberintos del Norte.
Lake Rotoroa at the Nelson Lakes National Park in New Zealand is one of the weirdest places in the world and will blow your mind to smithereens. The blue lake is so clear that you can see all the way to the bottom and can’t even make out the depth.
One of the strangest sites on earth is Giant Crystal Cave, which is located in Naica Mine. These enormous sparkling mineral pillars that are located deep inside the earth’s crust are enough to give you claustrophobia. Over 500,000 years have passed while this enormous structure has been expanding beneath Mexico. It provides an excellent case study on how creatures endure high temperatures and humidity. Visit this location at least once if you love the outdoors.
Go up North to the volcanic lake called Mvatn. Reykjahl settlement, which is on the northeastern shore, serves as a base for exploring the region and contains an information center. The mineral-rich waters of the man-made lagoon at the east-of-here Mvatn Nature Baths in Northern Iceland have been recognized for their therapeutic benefits. Near Námafjall Mountain, a short distance away, is Hverir, a hot springs area with bubbling mud pots and fumaroles.

Despite all these conditions, it is grazing ground for the Lesser Flamingos.
