An easy recipe for the most delicious "caramel sauce"

According to Wikipedia, Dulce de leche is Spanish for “sweet [made] of milk”.

This is basically a “caramel sauce” which is made with milk, and it is delicious. Not so sweet as the one made with condensed milk, but still perfectly flavored. I really do prefer this recipe.

The most basic ingredients are used to make this at home:

Sugar & Milk.

You can really try this recipe at home. It is easier than making fudge, and it is a handy item to have in your cupboard over a weekend.

Ingredients:

1/4 cup (50g) White Sugar
3 Tbsp. (42g) Butter at room temperature
1/3 cup (80ml) Whole/Full cream Milk, hot
397g (1 tin) Sweetened Condensed Milk

How to make Dulce de Leche:

In a large saucepan, gently heat the sugar until completely melted. Add the butter and let it melt.
Now add the milk little by little while continuously stirring.
Then add the Condensed Milk and bring to a boil while stirring constantly.
Boil and stir for about 3 to 4 minutes until thickened.
Let it cool at room temperature and store in airtight container for up to 5 or 7 days.
