Is it easy to get around the city?

As Madrid is a huge city, you can expect all the usual advantages of having taxis, busses, trains, etc at the tip of your fingertips, so it is easy to get around.

Travel Tip(s)

One interesting aspect of Madrid’s transport system is the use of the “abono” card. This is a reloadable card that allows you to travel seamlessly across different modes of transportation, such as the metro, buses, and trains, within the city. It offers convenience and cost savings if you plan to use public transport frequently during your stay.

Because the abono transporte is a monthly transportation pass you can buy one any day of the month. This card is rechargeable every 30 days and you are able to use it on the metro, commuter train (Cercanías), or bus.

Travel Tip(s)

You CAN stretch your travel budget while getting the most out of your holiday. Between your city passes, your travel and rail passes, and hop-on-hop-off buses you will save and see plenty more.
