Desenzano del Garda is a town in the province of Brescia, in Lombardy, Italy. It is situated right on the southwestern shore of beautiful Lake Garda.

It is also known as the capital of Lake Garda.

Rent a car and explore the beautiful Lombardy countryside around the city. From Desenzano to Sirmione is only a 15-minute car drive.

This beautiful spot is the starting point of many tours of the ever-popular Lake Garda. From here you can easily reach the eastern coast of Lake Garda, towards Lazise, Bardolino, Garda, or Torri del Benaco.
Visit the local market which takes place every Tuesday in the streets of the town center.
The Roman Villa was a very impressive Villa, with pools, thermal baths, and a terrace overlooking the lake. The remains of the villa include elaborate mosaic floors. The whole villa can be visited, and there is also an Antiquarium on site.
Stop at Porto Vecchio – There are really nice restaurants and it is really a nice place to spend some time.

Desenzano is well known for its many beautiful pebble beaches. You can visit:

Desenzanino beach (one of the most visited), and
Feltrinelli Beach

In the hamlet of Rivoltella, there are two more beaches:

Porto Rivoltella, and
Golden Beach (with a restaurant, bar, and disco)

Lake Garda is also famous for its breathtaking scenery, and so is Desenzano.

Lake Garda is really big. Keeping in mind that it has an area of 370 square kilometers (143 square miles) and 150 km (93 miles) of coastline, divided into three regions. Still, it is easy to get around, as there is an extensive public transport system. You’ll have no issues getting to your destination.
