Gilli is the oldest café in the city of Florence. Founded in 1733 and opened as “Bottega dei sweet bread”. Opened in 1476 and was originally named ‘Locanda delle due spade – Locanda of the two swords.’ The name changed in 1681 to Caffe del Tasso. Open for breakfast, aperitifs, and also lunch and dinners.
